Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, reporting changes promptly
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records
• Provide education and support to patients and their families
• Respond quickly to respiratory emergencies and code situations

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous experience in respiratory therapy, ideally in an acute care setting
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Strong assessment and communication skills with a compassionate approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, and protocols
• Ability to interpret blood gases and adjust ventilator settings
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent patient communication and education abilities
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
