Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient respiratory status and implement care plans
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and monitor responses
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and equipment
• Document patient progress and adjust treatments as needed

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous experience in respiratory therapy, ideally in acute care
• Strong communication and patient assessment skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible per diem environment

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy protocols and equipment
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in emergency situations
