Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting
• Administer oxygen, aerosol medications, and ventilatory support
• Monitor patient response to therapy and adjust treatments as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment and techniques
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with protocols

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC
• Active state licensure in Virginia (or compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in mechanical ventilation and airway management
• Proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment and devices
• Knowledge of pulmonary disease processes and treatments
• Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
