Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to progressive care patients, monitoring telemetry and managing complex conditions.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy agents safely, following ONS guidelines and your unit-based oncology training.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized care plans.
• Assess patients continuously and respond quickly to changes in condition, documenting everything accurately.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, side effects, and discharge instructions.
• Serve as an advocate for every patient, ensuring their voice is heard and their comfort is prioritized.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan or a compact state license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course completion strongly preferred
• OCN certification or oncology experience is a plus
• Experience in progressive care, telemetry, or oncology nursing is beneficial
• Willingness to complete Trinity Health competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable administering vesicant and non-vesicant chemotherapy with proper safety protocols
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Proficient with electronic medical records and charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
