Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized care to patients in the preoperative and post-anesthesia care units, ensuring they are safe and comfortable.
• Closely monitor vital signs and assess patients as they recover from general anesthesia, providing immediate intervention when needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to coordinate seamless patient care.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative instructions and answer their questions with empathy.
• Accurately document patient information and care in the Meditech Expanse system.
• Participate in the call rotation to support emergency and after-hours surgical needs.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Hampshire or a compact state (or willing to obtain)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Preop/PACU, critical care, or a related specialty
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in using Meditech Expanse for patient charting and documentation
• Knowledge of Phase I and Phase II recovery standards and best practices
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of sterile field, anesthesia equipment, and post-anesthesia complications
