Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-05-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend and every third holiday required
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage patients in the Progressive Care Unit, including those with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes conditions
- Titrate intravenous medications such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and respond to patient needs
- Provide patient education and support to promote recovery and wellness
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU experience
- Must be able to pass a clinical exam with 90% during orientation
- Driver's license required for identification and mileage verification
- Comfortable with floating to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to titrate multiple IV drips
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude and willingness to help others
- Proficiency in continuous EEG monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
