Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients on the Progressive Care Unit
• Assess and monitor patients, recognizing changes in condition and responding quickly
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments after completing required ONS training
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment protocols, side effects, and recovery
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with unit standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Oncology experience preferred; ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course or OCN certification needed for vesicant chemo administration
• Willingness to complete unit-based oncology training for non-vesicant chemotherapy
• Ability to complete Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Must meet health requirements including drug screen, immunizations, and physical

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing knowledge and familiarity with chemotherapy/biotherapy
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to monitor and stabilize progressive care patients
• Proficiency in BLS and ACLS protocols
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, specialized unit
