Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures
• Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia, and recovery throughout the surgical process
• Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment to prevent infections
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• BLS certification required
• Previous OR nursing experience preferred, especially with pediatric patients
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a fast-paced surgical setting
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and surgical schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques and sterile field management
• Understanding of pediatric patient assessment, anesthesia, and monitoring
• Strong critical thinking and quick decision-making abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with surgeons, staff, and families
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
