Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room
• Assist the surgical team during pediatric procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgery, maintaining strict sterile technique
• Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative period and respond promptly to changes
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members
• Advocate for the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• BLS certification required; PALS preferred
• Prior OR or pediatric nursing experience strongly desired
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented surgical setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique
• Understanding of pediatric anatomy, physiology, and developmental needs
• Skill in patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in emergency situations
