Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patients' conditions and respond quickly to changes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge care
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes
• Document patient care thoroughly in electronic health records
• Advocate for the unique physical and emotional needs of children

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
• Experience in med/surg nursing, with pediatric experience a plus
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, compassionate environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric growth, development, and family dynamics
• Skilled in pediatric IV insertion and medication administration
• Understanding of family-centered care principles
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay calm and empathetic during stressful situations
