Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients in a med/surg setting
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for children with diverse medical conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, responses to treatment, and progress
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to coordinate optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Advocate for the unique physical and emotional needs of pediatric patients and their families
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as appropriate

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• BLS certification required; PALS preferred
• Previous experience in med/surg or pediatric nursing is a plus
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Strong clinical judgment, compassion, and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric assessment and med/surg nursing principles
• Skilled in medication administration and dosage calculations for pediatric patients
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Proficient with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic communication with children and families
