Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive care to mothers and babies during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, ensuring the safety and well-being of both patients
• Assist obstetricians and midwives during deliveries, including cesarean sections
• Educate new parents on infant care, breastfeeding, and newborn wellness
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized birth plans and support family-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NRP certification mandatory
• C-EFM certification for electronic fetal monitoring
• Experience in LDRP (labor/delivery/mother/baby) nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Quick thinking and ability to handle emergencies with confidence
