Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs to ensure safety
• Assist with deliveries, including emergency and high-risk situations
• Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Current and valid Louisiana RN license or compact state license
• BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
• NRP certification strongly preferred
• Prior Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of maternal and newborn nursing care
• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Experience with electronic medical records
• Patient education and family support expertise
• Ability to respond confidently to obstetrical emergencies
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
