Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and babies during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, quickly identifying and responding to changes
• Assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, and provide immediate newborn care
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure safe, positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or equivalent)
• NRP certification strongly preferred
• Previous labor and delivery or maternal-child nursing experience preferred
• A passion for supporting women and families through one of life's most meaningful moments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity situations
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
