Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, recognizing subtle changes quickly
• Administer medications and manage advanced ICU therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate proactively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and uphold safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license
• Prior ICU experience preferred; comfort with critically ill patients required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts and varying schedules
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in critical care assessment and intervention
• Experience with ventilator management and respiratory support
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Proficiency with IV therapy, central lines, and infusion pumps
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and accurate documentation
• Excellent teamwork, prioritization, and time management abilities
