Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in the emergency department
• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to implement personalized care plans
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments as ordered while monitoring patient responses
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Respond quickly and effectively in emergency and code situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Previous emergency department or critical care nursing experience preferred
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work per diem shifts, including some weekends and holidays as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles and triage protocols
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
• Knowledge of emergency medications and treatments
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in high-pressure situations
