Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients presenting to the emergency department and prioritize care based on acuity
• Provide rapid assessment and emergency interventions for acute medical conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatments, adjusting care as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health staff to deliver coordinated emergency care
• Document accurately and maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification required or obtained within orientation period
• Previous emergency department or critical care experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and triage skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of emergency nursing principles and protocols
• Skilled in using EHR systems and charting quickly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
• Excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities
