Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced critical care nursing for trauma, burn and surgical ICU patients with attention and precision
• Assess, monitor and manage complex hemodynamic and ventilatory needs using critical care equipment
• Perform wound care, assist with EVD management, and participate in massive transfusion protocol (MTP) when indicated
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Apply critical thinking and timely clinical judgment during codes and rapid-response situations
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR and maintain high standards of charting
• Support unit flow and staffing by floating to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as needed
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience; Trauma, Burn and Surgical ICU experience required
• BSN preferred
• CCRN preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and meeting weekend requirements

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Expertise in trauma and burn critical care principles
• Skilled in wound care, EVD management and participating in MTPs
• Proficient with critical care equipment and monitoring devices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based ICU environment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
