Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by the physician, following the plan of care developed by a Registered Physical Therapist
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, and activities of daily living
• Use therapeutic modalities such as heat, water, light, electricity, massage, and ultrasound to relieve pain and restore function
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques to promote independence and confidence
• Observe, record, and report patient reactions and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Arrange with health agencies for equipment that is available to patients to support their recovery
• Complete and submit accurate clinical notes and documentation in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in both NH and VT
• Valid Driver's License and agency-level auto insurance
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Associate's Degree in PTA
• Ability to work collaboratively with a Registered Physical Therapist and the rehabilitation team
