Candidate Pay Rate: $41 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled rehabilitative care to patients with physical functioning disorders under the direction of a Physical Therapist
  • Implement evidence-based treatment plans, including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation training, and assistive devices
  • Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising PT to adjust treatments as needed
  • Accurately document patient care, treatment minutes, and outcomes in the electronic health record
  • Counsel and educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders and care plans
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure cohesive and effective rehabilitation services
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and required facility trainings
  • Supervise and support PTA students, adhering to APTA and state practice guidelines

Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience
  • Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings
  • Strong patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising PTs and care teams

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of physical therapy modalities and rehabilitation techniques
  • Understanding of long-term care and skilled nursing regulations
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health records
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and team members
  • Ability to assess progress and adapt treatment plans as needed
  • Commitment to professional ethics and APTA standards
