Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient pediatric care on the pediatric floor — your clinical judgment will matter
• Share newborn nursery coverage in collaboration with neonatology teams
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists and subspecialty colleagues to ensure coordinated, family-centered care
• Participate in clinical quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to improve patient outcomes
• Engage in clinical research projects and exchange best practices with a large Pediatrix network
• Cover home call as part of the scheduling model and support continuity of care
• Contribute to a collegial team environment and help mentor colleagues when opportunities arise

Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified Pediatrician
• Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia (state license required prior to start)
• Experience with inpatient pediatrics and newborn nursery coverage; circumcision experience preferred
• Demonstrated interest or experience in quality improvement and clinical research
• Ability to work collaboratively with neonatology and subspecialty teams
• U.S. work authorization required — this role is not accepting visa candidates; locums candidates not accepted

Education

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient pediatrics and hospital medicine principles
• Newborn care and nursery coverage best practices
• Team-based care and effective collaboration with neonatologists
• Clinical quality improvement methods and participation in CQI projects
• Familiarity with clinical research processes and participation
• Procedural comfort (circumcision experience preferred)
• Strong family-centered communication and care coordination skills
