Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist our orthodontist during patient exams and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient visits
• Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays to support accurate diagnoses
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
• Educate patients on braces care, oral hygiene, and post-treatment guidelines
• Keep precise patient records and treatment notes to support continuity of care
• Provide compassionate patient support to ease any dental anxiety

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
• Current CPR certification
• State dental assistant certification or licensure as required by Maryland
• Experience in orthodontics is a plus
• Familiarity with dental practice management software (Denticon preferred)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Understanding of orthodontic procedures and appliances
• Proficiency in taking and mounting dental X-rays
• Strong patient care and customer service skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
