Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during braces fittings, adjustments, and removal procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe, hygienic environment
- Take and process dental X-rays, impressions, and digital scans for treatment planning
- Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and braces care
- Maintain accurate patient charts and update treatment records in dental practice software
- Stock and organize supplies to keep the office running smoothly
Qualifications
- Certified or registered Dental Assistant (RDA/CDA) in Maryland
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- X-ray/radiology certification as required by state
- Prior experience in an orthodontic or dental office setting
- Passion for providing exceptional patient care with a warm, friendly attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology and procedures
- Proficiency with dental software and digital charting systems
- Strong infection control and sterilization standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain an organized workspace
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on patient comfort
