Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during procedures and treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and ensure a clean clinical environment
- Take and mount dental x-rays, as well as impressions and models
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling follow-ups
- Manage orthodontic supplies and inventory to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent preferred
- Maryland dental radiography certification or eligibility
- Prior experience in orthodontic or dental assisting is a plus
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
- Proficiency with dental software and patient records
- Strong sterilization and infection control practices
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- A friendly, compassionate approach to patient interactions
