Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments with precision and care
- Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and clear communication
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments and equipment to maintain a safe environment
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring accurate and high-quality images
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care to promote lasting results
- Maintain meticulous patient records and treatment notes in the dental software system
- Manage appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and patient flow to keep the practice running smoothly
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification to ensure patient safety
- Prior experience in orthodontic assisting is preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients and team members
- Attention to detail and a passion for providing exceptional patient care
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and orthodontic techniques
- Proficiency with dental software such as Denticon for charting and scheduling
- X-ray certification and adherence to safety protocols
- Expertise in sterilization and infection control practices
- Compassionate patient care and customer service skills
