Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, including operatory setup and instrument sterilization
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and pass instruments with precision
• Provide compassionate patient care, explaining post-operative instructions and addressing concerns
• Document patient information and assist with imaging as needed
• Support the dental team in delivering exceptional oral surgery outcomes

Qualifications

• Prior oral surgery experience is required, you'll be the expert we rely on
• Current dental assistant certification or licensure as required by Maryland state regulations
• BLS/CPR certification is a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented clinical environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of oral surgery instruments and sterilization protocols
• Strong understanding of dental anatomy and surgical assistance techniques
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
• Ability to quickly anticipate surgeon needs and adapt to changing situations
