Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for oral surgery procedures, making them feel at ease
• Take and record vital signs including blood pressure and pulse oximetry
• Assist with nitrous oxide and IV sedation monitoring during procedures
• Capture high-quality panoramic X-rays to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
• Assist the surgeon during wisdom tooth extractions and other oral surgery procedures
• Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers to promote smooth recovery

Qualifications

• Experience taking vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse oximetry
• Hands-on experience with nitrous oxide and IV sedation
• Proficiency in taking panoramic X-rays
• Experience assisting with wisdom tooth surgery
• Strong ability to deliver post-operative instructions with clarity and compassion
• Dental assistant certification or licensure as applicable in Virginia

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Knowledge of oral surgery instruments and sterilization protocols
• Comfort with electronic health records and X-ray systems
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical setting
