Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer Occupational Therapy treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician
• Deliver patient care in a safe environment that reduces the likelihood of medical or health care errors
• Perform comprehensive evaluations and assessments for pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations
• Develop individualized treatment plans using manual therapy, neuro-rehab techniques, exercise modalities, and functional activities
• Help patients reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within their capabilities
• Monitor and evaluate treatment effects, and recommend changes to physicians as needed
• Assess patient pain interfering with function and make appropriate physician contact for intervention
• Create teaching plans based on identified learning needs and include family in education as appropriate
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity while addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs
• Manage and operate equipment safely, maintain department cleanliness, and ensure safety
• Communicate clearly with physicians, staff, and administrative teams
• Coordinate and direct patient care to meet needs and follow hospital policy
• Collaborate with other departments for patient care and performance improvement
• Direct OT assistants, rehab aides, mobility technicians, and students
• Maintain clinical documentation according to current standards and policies
• Participate in orientation, in-service training, and educational programs
• Ensure patient charges are accurate and entered timely

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with New Hampshire license or eligibility
• Current BLS Certification
• Graduate from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy or equivalent
• Experience providing Occupational Therapy in an outpatient setting is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with best practices and latest evidence for upper quadrant conditions such as degenerative conditions, neurologic impairments, general orthopedics, and post-operative care
• Proficiency with manual therapy, neuro-rehab techniques, exercise modalities, and functional activities
• Comfort treating pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Licensed Occupational Therapist with NH eligibility. - Required.
• Graduate from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy or equivalent. - Required.
• Experience in providing Occupational Therapy within the outpatient setting. - Strongly Preferred.
