Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough OT evaluations and create individualized treatment plans that make a real difference
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve patients' independence with daily living tasks
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and the care team to coordinate holistic patient care
• Educate patients and families on strategies for safety, home modifications, and adaptive equipment
• Document progress and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record to support continuity of care
• Monitor patient progress, adjust interventions as needed, and participate in discharge planning
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, recovery-focused environment

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy license in Maine or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• NBCOT certification preferred or as required by the facility
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Experience in post-acute, inpatient rehab, or contract therapy settings preferred
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills
• Ability to complete required onboarding, background checks, and health screenings for contract placement

Education

• Entry-level Occupational Therapy degree (MOT, MSOT) or OTD from an accredited program
• Bachelor's degree in a related field as preparatory education is acceptable where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and activity analysis
• Experience with therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment, and splinting techniques
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Ability to train and educate patients and caregivers effectively
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced rehab environment
• Collaborative approach to interdisciplinary team-based care
