Location: Austin, Texas

Start Date: 06-15-2026

End Date: 09-14-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM with rotating weekends every 3 to 4 weeks

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional occupational therapy services to cardiac patients in acute care settings
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and case managers to deliver coordinated care
Develop individualized treatment plans that support patient recovery and independence
Support patients through complex procedures including open heart, TAVR, and LVAD recovery
Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR system
Contribute to a positive, safety-focused environment that puts patients first

Qualifications

Active Occupational Therapist license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of acute care experience including ICU/CCU settings
Strong communication and time management skills
Ability to work independently as the primary therapist on weekends
Wound care experience is a plus but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Acute care occupational therapy in cardiac and critical care units
Patient assessment and individualized care planning
Effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
Meditech EMR documentation proficiency
Strong attention to safety and patient-centered care
