Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced neonatal care in a Level-III NICU, including management of high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy
• Deliver therapeutic hypothermia (brain cooling) when indicated and manage complex neonatal respiratory support
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, subspecialists, and an experienced NNP team to coordinate excellent patient care
• Participate in clinical teaching and scholarly activities through the Mercer Medical School affiliation
• Contribute to family-centered care, clear communication with parents, and discharge planning
• Support quality improvement initiatives, accurate clinical documentation, and adherence to unit protocols

Qualifications

• NNP Board Certification required (FNP, PNP, or other NP certifications will not be accepted)
• Licensed or eligible to practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) in the relevant jurisdiction
• New NNP graduates accepted and encouraged to apply
• Not accepting locum candidates; this is a permanent position
• Comfortable working in a 66-bed Level-III NICU with complex neonatal technologies and therapies
• Willingness to participate in a clinical appointment with Mercer Medical School

Education

• Completion of an NNP program and attainment of NNP Board Certification (new graduates accepted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong background in neonatology and NICU care
• Experience or familiarity with high-frequency ventilation and advanced neonatal respiratory support
• Knowledge of nitric oxide therapy and therapeutic hypothermia (brain cooling)
• Ability to participate in clinical teaching and coordinate with pediatric subspecialties
• Team-oriented communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
