Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests accurately and efficiently
• Process and prepare specimens, ensuring proper labeling and chain-of-custody
• Operate, calibrate, and perform basic maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Document results and maintain accurate records in the lab information system
• Follow quality control, safety, and infection prevention protocols at all times
• Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support patient care

Qualifications

• Completed accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent
• Certification as an MLT (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred or active progress toward certification
• Current state licensure or ability to obtain state-required credentials if applicable
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety
• Prior clinical laboratory experience is a plus but new grads with solid training are encouraged to apply

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Phlebotomy and specimen handling best practices
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and accurate data entry
• Understanding of basic hematology, chemistry, and microbiology workflows
• Knowledge of quality control, CLIA, and OSHA guidelines
• Ability to troubleshoot routine instrument issues and follow maintenance protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a clinical setting
