Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs during labor
• Assist with deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean sections
• Educate new mothers on infant care and breastfeeding
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to ensure safe outcomes
• Administer medications and manage pain relief options
• Respond to obstetric emergencies with quick thinking and skill
• Maintain accurate patient records and document care provided

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Oregon
• BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• NRP certification required
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert fetal monitoring interpretation
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in electronic medical records
• Knowledge of obstetric emergencies and interventions
