Shift Type: Monday–Friday (typical day coverage), 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (flexible start/end based on case volume; may start as early as 6:00 AM). 4x10 or 5x8 scheduling to meet 40 hours/week. Rotating weeknight call (typically 2 nights/week) and rotating weekend call coverage; shared holiday/weekend call. Day with rotating nights/weekends.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and advanced endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, complex EUS and ERCP
• Perform scope reprocessing and meticulous manual washing and high-level disinfection using Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro
• Support stent placement, exchange/removal and stone management procedures safely and efficiently
• Prepare procedure rooms and instrumentation, manage equipment and ensure smooth patient flow
• Handle biopsies, snares, injections, banding, dilations, and GI bleed interventions with care and precision
• Document procedures and chart in Cerner accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in rotating weeknight and weekend on-call coverage and respond within expected call response time
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, anesthesia and the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent endoscopy experience (must be recent — active within the last 6 months)
• BLS certification required
• Demonstrated strong proficiency in advanced EUS, complex ERCP, stent placement/exchange/removal and stone management (MUST)
• Preferred experience with EBUS and ION advanced procedures
• Proven competency in manual scope handling, HLD processes and use of Medivator DSD Edge and Olympus OER Pro
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic charting systems
• Ability to participate in rotating call (weeknights/weekends) and respond promptly to cases

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an Endoscopy Technician program or equivalent clinical training preferred
• Relevant certifications (BLS required; additional endoscopy or specialty certificates a plus)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of endoscope reprocessing, infection control, and high-level disinfection protocols
• Skilled in instrumentation setup for GI/Endo procedures and troubleshooting common device issues
• Technical skills for biopsy, snare, dilation (balloon/Maloney/Savary), injections, banding and hemostasis techniques
• Comfort working in a high-volume acute care setting with rapid turnover (20–30 cases/day across 2 rooms)
• Strong teamwork, communication and time-management skills
• Ability to self-schedule and adapt to variable case volumes and shift flexing
