Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support nursing staff by taking vital signs, observing changes, and reporting updates promptly
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning while promoting independence
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team and families
• Participate in assigned training and follow facility policies to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Comfort with providing personal care to older adults and understanding of geriatric needs
• Basic infection control knowledge and ability to follow safety protocols
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background checks, and required immunizations or testing
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Competent at taking and recording vital signs and observing patient condition
• Ability to follow care plans and document accurately in patient records
• Familiarity with safe transfer techniques and basic mobility assistance
• Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
