Location: Lanham, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning
Monitor residents' comfort and report changes in condition promptly
Support mealtime assistance and basic feeding as needed
Document care tasks accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

GNA certification (required)
Current TB screening and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
Comfort working with older adults and those with mobility or cognitive needs
Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting)
Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Accurate documentation and attention to detail
Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow care plans and supervisor directions
Infection control and basic clinical hygiene practices
