Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, and grooming while preserving dignity and independence
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric patients and report changes in condition promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and document residents’ vital signs, intake/output, and behavior changes accurately
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to execute care plans and ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through clear, respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to accept per-diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program and current GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Proficiency in assisting with activities of daily living and safe transfer techniques
• Competence in basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety procedures
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate care
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
