Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate observations to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and proper use of assistive devices to reduce fall risk
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and report any concerns promptly
• Help create a warm, home-like environment through positive interactions and social engagement
• Follow infection control policies and maintain a clean, safe resident environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required for this role
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain soon after hire
• Comfort working overnight shifts and supporting geriatric populations
• Ability to pass facility background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or nursing home experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with geriatric care principles and dementia-friendly approaches
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility support
• Basic observational skills to recognize changes in resident condition
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
