Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
• Document care provided accurately and promptly in resident charts
• Help create a warm, engaging environment by participating in activities and social interactions
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents and staff safe
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certificate or state-approved nursing assistant training program completion

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Comfortable with ADLs, feeding assistance, and basic observation of vitals
• Good documentation and basic charting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a care team
• Awareness of infection prevention and safety procedures
