Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing for patients
• Conduct oral health assessments and document findings accurately
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist with procedures and maintain a clean operatory
• Manage infection control protocols and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Maintain patient records and update dental charts using electronic systems

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist license
• Graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental anatomy, pathology, and preventive care
• Proficiency with dental charting and electronic health record software
• Understanding of infection control and OSHA regulations
• Skill in using ultrasonic scalers, hand instruments, and polishing devices
• Ability to assess patient needs and develop personalized oral health plans
