Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT and X-ray imaging studies following department protocols and radiologist direction
• Ensure patient safety by practicing radiation safety and adhering to ALARA standards
• Verify patient identity using two forms of identification and provide clear exam education
• Obtain informed consent and document medical history relevant to each procedure
• Operate and perform routine quality control on imaging equipment per manufacturer recommendations
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and promptly notify leadership or service engineers when needed
• Assist with clerical duties, patient transport, and registration tasks as required
• Notify radiologists immediately for STAT or emergent cases and provide ordering physician contact info
• Support cross-training, mentor colleagues, and contribute to continuous quality improvement activities
• Maintain accurate documentation, submit required imaging forms to Health Information Management, and protect patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in at least two modalities (or eligible to obtain the required registries within one year of hire)
• Current BLS certification or must obtain BLS within 90 days of hire
• Prior experience as a practicing technologist in CT/X-ray or related modalities preferred (2 years preferred)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and employee health requirements
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACS, RIS/HIS and work with electronic health records
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented, patient-focused approach
• Willingness to work nights, holidays, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations

Education

• ARRT and/or ARDMS registries in required modalities (or eligible to obtain within 1 year)
• Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days if not current)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with CT and X-ray imaging techniques and radiologic procedures
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices including ALARA
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, HIS, and Microsoft Office
• Experience performing equipment quality control and basic troubleshooting
• Solid patient care skills including informed consent and medical history documentation
• Ability to follow imaging protocols and collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff
