Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming—with dignity and compassion
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Provide timely, clear documentation in the resident chart and communicate updates to the care team
- Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Pennsylvania (or equivalent state certification as required)
- Valid state CNA license and up-to-date documentation
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (immunizations, TB test, etc.)
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with good communication skills
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-approved CNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care skills and familiarity with ADLs
- Ability to measure and accurately record vital signs
- Strong observational skills and ability to report changes in condition
- Basic charting/documentation skills; comfort using electronic health records is helpful
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe resident handling practices
