Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately
• Support feeding, bathing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the nursing team
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies and procedures
• Contribute to a clean, safe environment by following infection control practices
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families through empathy and clear communication

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
• Active or eligible for New Mexico CNA registry
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working an overnight 12+ hour shift (5:00 PM - 5:30 AM)
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Prior CNA experience preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs will be considered

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control
• Skill in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Strong observational skills to notice changes in patient condition
• Good interpersonal skills for collaborating with nurses, patients, and families
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting procedures
