Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct specialized cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and peripheral vascular procedures with precision and patient-centered focus
- Lead and support the intra-procedure team to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment and patients — including identification, prepping and draping — following Universal Protocol and site-marking when applicable
- Select, maintain and calibrate special procedures equipment; perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues to keep the lab running
- Interpret physician orders and collaborate with providers to follow protocols and ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Drive process improvements, recommend workflow changes, and monitor results to elevate department performance
- Stay current with advances in cardiovascular technology and integrate best practices into daily care
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases (required)
- Active ARRT or RCIS certification (required)
- Active ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications (required)
- Active State of Texas Medical Radiologic License (must be active at time of submission; Compact allowed)
- Must disclose any previous Parkland employment history in your profile (required)
- Two supervisory references from within the last year and a current resume (required)
- Experience in critical care (ICU/ED) or prior Cath/EP lab experience preferred
- Previous travel assignment experience is highly preferred
Education
- No specific degree listed — required certifications and active state licensure are mandatory (ARRT or RCIS; ACLS; BLS; State of TX Medical Radiologic License)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiovascular technology skills for Cath Lab and special procedures
- Patient preparation, draping and comfort techniques
- Procedure room setup and equipment selection for cardiology interventions
- Interdisciplinary teamwork and clear intra-procedure communication
- Regulatory, accreditation and state licensure compliance
- Equipment maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of special procedures gear
- Familiarity with Universal Protocol and site-marking procedures
- Leadership and the ability to serve as a resource or lead worker when needed
