Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the interventional radiology / cath lab setting, ensuring safety and comfort during procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology techs and interdisciplinary team members to prepare patients and equipment for IR procedures
• Monitor and manage critically ill or emergency patients when called in during nights and weekends
• Perform focused assessments, administer medications, and manage post-procedure recovery with attention to sterile technique and infection control
• Document accurately in the electronic health record and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Participate in competency validation and required screenings to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Experience in Interventional Radiology / Cath Lab required
• Background in critical care such as ER or ICU preferred or required to handle complex cases
• BLS required; ALS (Advanced Life Support) noted in job details
• DCI/BVP certification listed in requirements
• Willingness to take call 2-3 times per week and work rotating weekends
• Successful completion of required screenings and verifications (drug screen, immunizations, TB testing, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with interventional radiology and cath lab procedures and equipment
• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Ability to manage emergencies and triage during on-call periods
• Proficiency with sterile technique, patient prep, and procedural workflows
• Clear clinical communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Comfort with competency exams and skills checklists used for credentialing
