Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate occupational therapy services in collaboration with supervising clinicians to help patients regain independence
- Assess patient needs and create purposeful, goal-driven treatment plans
- Provide skilled interventions for activities of daily living, adaptive equipment training, and therapeutic modalities
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the client record
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to maximize safety and functional outcomes
- Communicate proactively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Support a positive, patient-centered environment and model professional behavior
Qualifications
- Current California COTA certification or license (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Flexibility to work varied schedules as needed during the 13-week assignment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- State certification/licensure as a COTA
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and activity of daily living (ADL) training
- Knowledge of common therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment
- Comfortable with documentation and basic electronic health record workflows
- Good clinical reasoning and goal-setting skills
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and family members
- Time management and organizational skills to manage caseload effectively
