Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate occupational therapy services in collaboration with supervising clinicians to help patients regain independence
  • Assess patient needs and create purposeful, goal-driven treatment plans
  • Provide skilled interventions for activities of daily living, adaptive equipment training, and therapeutic modalities
  • Document patient progress clearly and timely in the client record
  • Educate patients and their families on strategies to maximize safety and functional outcomes
  • Communicate proactively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
  • Support a positive, patient-centered environment and model professional behavior

Qualifications

  • Current California COTA certification or license (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules as needed during the 13-week assignment

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
  • State certification/licensure as a COTA

Knowledge & Skills

  • Skilled in patient assessment and activity of daily living (ADL) training
  • Knowledge of common therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment
  • Comfortable with documentation and basic electronic health record workflows
  • Good clinical reasoning and goal-setting skills
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and family members
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage caseload effectively
