Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room for vascular and endovascular procedures
- Assist surgeons and the OR team with instrumentation, patient positioning, and sterile technique to ensure safe, efficient cases
- Respond quickly and confidently to trauma activations in a large Level 1 trauma setting
- Maintain high standards on the skills checklist and pursue continuous improvement in clinical performance
- Participate in call, holiday, and weekend coverage as scheduled to support 24/7 patient care
- Document cases thoroughly and accurately, and ensure all demographics and credentialing info (including badge-appropriate photo) are uploaded
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Georgia or compact RN licensure preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a large Level 1 trauma facility (please note this in your work history) — this is required
- Strong vascular and endovascular OR experience is required
- Availability for call, holidays, and weekend coverage
- Demonstrated high ratings across skills checklists and clinical competencies
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS); additional perioperative certifications a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Operating Room procedures and perioperative nursing best practices
- Vascular and endovascular surgical techniques and instrumentation
- Level 1 trauma protocols and rapid response under pressure
- Sterile technique, infection control, and patient positioning
- Ability to manage complex equipment and assist with intraoperative troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
