Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 36 hours/week, weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month at unit discretion

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert care to trauma patients in a high-volume Level 1 ED seeing 250-300 patients daily
  • Master sterile field procedures during SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes
  • Collaborate with charge RNs, PCTs, RTs, and physicians to stabilize burns, trauma, and critical cases
  • Read Phillips monitor strips accurately while managing 1:4 ratios
  • Float confidently between nearby facilities to support the team where needed most

Qualifications

  • Active RN license with at least 2 years of ER experience including 6 months in Trauma Level 1
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (ENPC not accepted as substitute)
  • Preferred: TNCC and ATCN
  • Competence in sterile field, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes
  • Able to pass Day 1 exam and SIMs Lab - study guide provided

Education

  • RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient with Cerner EMR and Phillips monitors for strip reading
  • Skilled in high-acuity trauma care, psych holds, and rapid assessments
  • Comfortable floating mid-shift between 4 nearby facilities
  • Natural hair color, no facial piercings, clean-shaven for fit test
