Registered Nurse - Neuro Acute Epilepsy Monitoring

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Start Date: 06-01-2026

End Date: 08-31-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days and nights including 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor epilepsy patients with 24-48 hour Trend EEGs delivering precise care
  • Assess neuro patients including brain tumors, TBIs, and post-surgical cases with sharp critical thinking
  • Detect subtle patient changes and perform thorough assessments including cranial nerves
  • Manage MedSurg/Tele patients while maintaining sterile procedures in SIMs Lab
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, RT, and SWAT RN for seamless patient support
  • Float to support fellow units ensuring exceptional care across the campus

Qualifications

  • Active RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • BSN preferred and Certified in Med Surg/Tele a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience including Level 1 trauma background
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills essential

Education

  • BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in MedSurg/Tele and Neuro Acute Epilepsy Monitoring
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia exams and sterile field maintenance
  • Skilled in patient monitoring for epilepsy, brain tumors, and TBIs
  • Comfortable with BiPAP management and IV support from dedicated teams
