Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to critically ill adults and children in the ICU
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory therapies while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary ICU and pediatric teams to create and execute care plans
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Epic charting
• Float between units as needed to meet patient and facility needs with flexibility and professionalism
• Respond to emergencies and rapid changes in patient status with calm, competent action
• Participate in unit-based policies including weekend coverage, holiday observations, and makeup shift procedures

Qualifications

• Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (as listed in the posting)
• Comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients
• Experience or comfort charting in Epic
• Weekend availability (every-other-weekend required) and willingness to float between like units
• Pending licenses are not accepted for this assignment
• Flu vaccine required (medical or religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Education

• RRT credential required; specific degree not specified in the posting

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU-level respiratory care and ventilator management
• Pediatric respiratory support and crossover care between peds and adults
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting
• Strong critical thinking and quick decision-making in high-acuity settings
• Ability to work nights, cover weekends, and adapt to floating assignments
• Clear communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
